The Airpics.com website is built up around an image database containing
thousands of aviation related pictures, photographed by aviation enthusiasts
and photographers around the world.
AirPics.com was founded by Morten Steen in March 1999, replacing Kjell Arild
Bersås' very basic aviation image website project called NAP (Norwegian
Aviation Pictures). In the beginning Airpics was very basic as well, with
mostly manual adding of images and information where the photographers
constributed by uploading their images to an ftp server. Eventually, better
methods of upload, screening- and administrating has been developed along
with the increase in users at the site. And with the conctand growth in
photographers and images, the development of the site goes on constantly.
Photographers add their images by uploading to the site by using their own
account, where thereafter the images goes through screening by members
of the Airpics.com staff. We are always looking for nice pictures from every
part of the world, so if you feel you have something to offer feel free to
